The property is situated, in a dominant position, on a hill
called Massa, in a position located with respect to the country of
Cabernardi, fraction of Sassoferrato, province of Ancona. Inserted
in the context of the Apennines, it is a few kilometers from the centers of
Pergola and Sassoferrato, as well as naturalistic attractions and
historical, such as the Gola della Rossa Regional Park, with the Caves of
Frasassi, and Mount Catria with the Monastery of Fonte Avellana. And
the Mining Museum, in the same hamlet of Cabernardi, which is
located 35 km from the Adriatic Sea and 8 h/ motorway from Monaco of
Bavaria.
This property consists of several buildings connected to each other, which
originate from a pre-existing Roman villa, as evidenced by
the ancient 'impluvium' still exists, and which today is located in
lateral position with respect to the main building.
On the front of the complex there are, in the vicinity, other
buildings, but the view still sweeps, given its location
dominant, up to Mount Strega.
While on the back the gaze sweeps undisturbed over the hills
surrounding without meeting other buildings, up to the mountain
Sant'Angelo.
The main building, of the manor type is, as we said, the most
ancient of the country. It occupies an area of about 240 square meters and is spread over
three floors .
The ground floor includes 9 rooms between large and small and the corridor
entrance: the cellar, with about ten barrels, the so-called
'bottega', a large room used for tools. hospitalization and
adjustment. The oven room, the laundry room, with the fireplace
corner, A large room that houses the press, eighteenth century,
basement, to press the grapes, and other rooms, some with entrance
independent. There is also the cave, dug into the sandstone at the
below the cellar.
From the entrance corridor you go up to the first floor. In the middle of the scale there is
a bathroom overlooking the inner courtyard, the ancient impluvium, nucleus
original of the building.
The first floor includes a total of 12 rooms: the dining room with
fireplace, the large kitchen with 2 windows, one on the façade and the other
on the inner courtyard, as well as that of the well compartment, which
draws on the cistern below, precisely the impluvium, to which it owes the
own function.
In fact, for centuries, the impluvium was the courtyard that served to
recover rainwater from the roofs, and convey it to the
cistern below, from which it was then drawn through the well to
pulley. Such a well still exists.
There is also a living room with fireplace and on this there are 4 rooms plus a
storage room, a Chapel with altar, and a corridor on which they open
3 other rooms.
On the second floor another living room and 4 large rooms.
The property also includes the courtyard, or exclusive courtyard, of about 1000
sqm, on which insist the barn of about 80 square meters and the woodshed; Another
arable land and another small connected dwelling
on the right side of the main façade.
From the hague you enter the field of 25000 square meters that descends the hill up to
to the provincial road, coming from S. Lorenzo in Campo (PU).
The property is completed by another area intended, possibly to
parking , of about 500 sqm in the front, along the road of
access.
The roof of the building was rebuilt in 1963, in
latero-cement with reinforced concrete curbs.
The construction is made of sandstone blocks and solid brick.
It suffered the earthquake of 1996 and needs renovation.
